Papplewick stun the champions as Hucknall go second in Premier League
Sensational batting from Robin Smith and Byron Hatton-Lowe saw Papplewick & Linby end their losing run in sensational style in the Nottinghamshire Premier League with a four-wicket win over reigning champions Cavaliers & Carrington.
Opener Hatton-Lowe smashed 117 off just 47 balls, with nine fours and 11 sixes, while Smith ended 147no off 78 balls, with 15 fours and eight sixes.

The pair shared a second-wicket stand of 117 as Papplewick chased down more than 300 to win.
Cavaliers had their own centurion in Akhil Patel (101) as they posted 301-7 in their 50 overs, with Farhan Ahmed (51) and Dominic Brown (41) also contributing well.
Dillon Singh and Sam Walker both took two wickets for Papplewick, who lost Sam Watson early in their reply.
But that was the cue for Hatton-Lowe and Smith to light the blue touch paper as they smashed the Cavaliers bowling to all parts, Smith seeing the job through at 305-6 in just 31.1 overs.
That result allowed Hucknall to go above Cavaliers into second place after they thrashed Notts & Arnold Amateur by 155 runs.
Hucknall skipper Sam Johnson added his name to the weekend’s century roll of honour with 123 from 117 balls, with 15 fours and two sixes, sharing in stands of 154 with Ryan Buckley (85) for third wicket and 73 with Daniel Blatherwick (41no) for the fourth.
Blatherwick and Archie Moore (25no) then put together an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 54 as Hucknall posted 321-4 in 50 overs.
Jake Wright then led another impressive Hucknall bowling display with 4-26 as the visitors were bowled out at 166-9 in reply with their last man absent.
Hucknall are now second in the table, 14 points behind unbeaten leaders Kimberley Institute, whom they met the next day in round two of the NCB Premier League Twenty20 Cup – and scored a psychological four-wicket win.
Hucknall bowled first and George Blatherwick claimed 3-32 as Kimberley collapsed from from 87-1 to 121-7 before reaching 146-7 in their 20 overs.
Ryan Buckley (31), Greg Willows (34) and Archie Moore (21) then set up Hucknall’s reply before Blatherwick (20no) finished the job off at 149-6 in 18.1 overs.
