TITLE-chasing FC BEDSTEAD will go top of the NOTTS SUNDAY COMBINATION'S First Division this weekend if they stretch their unbeaten run to 15 games.

Bedstead made it 14 and counting when winning 7-4 against Real Carlton. And now they tackle the current leaders, Wellington Inn Old Boys, who head the table by only one point, this Sunday.

It was a tough, workmanlike performance against Carlton, spearheaded by strikers Phillip Gouldby and Rob Lindsay, who scored all seven goals between them.

Gouldby grabbed five, including the opener. And after the visitors had responded with two of their own, Lindsay bagged his first from a through ball by Adam Woodward.

Woodward supplied the ammunition again for Gouldby to make it 3-2 and hitman Lindsay added number four just before the break thanks to fine work by Jimmy Applegate.

With the wind behind them in the second half, Carlton pushed forward. But it was Bedstead assassin Gouldby who scored again.

Carlton did sneak two more goals but, sandwiched in between, so did Gouldby, who was denied the man-of-the-match award only by Paul ‘The Tower’ Prewett, who was awesome for 90 minutes.
