Basford United boss can't wait to see the fans back at Greenwich Avenue

Basford United will welcome fans back to Greenwich Avenue for a friendly fixture on Saturday, May 22 in what will be the first home fixture with fans since a second round FA Trophy win before Christmas.

It means good news for supporters as, subject to final approval from the local authorities, 600 fans, or 25% of stadium capacity, will now be attend their game against John McGrath’s side and the club have subsequently made a further 300 tickets available via the online club shop.

And Chettle says it will be a very welcome site for all those involved at the club.

He said: “It’s been an awfully long time since we’ve any fans in the ground to see a game and share that matchday experience with us and the players - it will be a huge relief to us all to have that back again.

“For two seasons, we have been in a strong position, only for them both to be curtailed. However, it will be great for everyone, including season ticket holders - new and old - to look forward to our first pre-season game against Mickleover on May 22,” he added.

“From there, we go into another break before the return of pre-season where we have a great schedule planned as we prepare for another tough Northern Premier League season, hopefully starting in August.”

In preparation, the club have recently confirmed their season ticket prices for the 2021/22 campaign, with special early bird reductions for those purchases made by the end of June as fans ready themselves for their live fix of football.

The last time they were able to do that was on December 12 last year when United progressed in the Trophy, beating Felixstowe and Walton United 3-0 before losing at Peterborough Sports in the third round.

Basford have confirmed that there is a favourable renewal incentive for those existing season ticket holders, including a zero-option cost for next season.

Prices start at £120 for adults (£150 from July 1) with concessions and students costing £75 (£90 from July 1) and £50 (£60 from July 1) respectively.

A family of four, to include a person under the age of 16, will cost £240 (£300 from July 1).

All season ticket holders will be eligible for free admission to the game against Mickleover, as well as all home pre-season first team and academy fixtures.
