BIG MATCH PREVIEW: Morecambe v Mansfield Town '“ Saturday, 6th February 2016

Mansfield Town are attempting to complete a quickfire 12-day double over Morecambe after winning away at Morecambe 2-1 on Tuesday, 26th January.

The Stags are also looking to win three League Two games in a row for only the second time this season, the last time being the last game in September and first two in October.

After being booed in the second half of their last home game – a 2-0 defeat by Luton Town – and at the end of it, boss Adam Murray has asked home fans for patience on Saturday if things are not going Mansfield’s way.

Murray wants to get home form going but says the behaviour of a section of fans is knocking players’ confidence.

Saturday is the last of the club’s ‘Kids For a Quid’ deals where anyone aged 17 and under only pay £1 to get in. U7s go in free anyway.

Mansfield will be without top scorer Matt Green, serving a one-game ban for two yellow card offences in last weekend’s 1-0 win at Crawley Town.

Boss Adam Murray has suggested he may have to tweak his formation with very limited options to replace Green.

Right back Daniel Alfei, who signed on loan from Swansea City on Monday, looks set to make his debut.

But, for once, the treatment room is clear right now.

Jim Bentley is likely to go with the team that drew with Porstmouth on Tuesday night.

KEY BATTLE: RYAN TAFAZOLLI v SHAUN MILLER

The Stags defence will again have to keep a very close watch on in-form striker Shaun Miller.

Aiming to recapture the form that saw him star in League Two with Crewe Alexandra, Morecambe summer signing Miller is now on 12 goals for the season.

The 28-year-old, who likes to play on the shoulder of the last defender, scored 19 goals in the 2010-2011 season for the Alex before sealing a move to Sheffield United in the summer of 2012.

However, after picking up a cruciate knee ligament injury with the Blades, he moved on to Coventry City, spent time on loan with Crawley and York City last season before being released.

MORECAMBE ONE TO WATCH: BARRY ROCHE

Goalkeeper Barry Roche was the toast of Morecambe on Tuesday night as he headed home from a 93rd minute corner to earn a 1-1 home draw with Portsmouth.

He missed a lot of last season through injury but the long-serving number one is back to his best this campaign.

Remarkably Roche had already had one shot on target in the first half with Ryan Fulton just about keeping out a wind-assisted clearance.

The 33-year-old Irishman had spells with Nottingham Forest and Chesterfield before moving to Morecambe in 2008 where he has since made over 300 appearances.

OPPOSITION MANAGER: JIM BENTLEY

A club legend, Jim Bentley was the captain in the Conference play-off final at Wembley when Morecambe won promotion to the Football League in 2007.

Has been manager since May 2011, making him the fourth longest serving in the Football League.

He began his playing career as a defender at Telford United in 1997, moving to Morecambe in 2002.

In June 2010, Bentley was appointed player-coach, having spent the previous season in a coaching role with the reserve team.

On May 13 2011, Bentley was appointed the player-manager of Morecambe on a two-year contract, but since then he has concentrated on the managerial role and has not played a competitive match since taking on that post.

He signed a two-year contract extension with the Shrimps on October 10 2013 and a further two year contract extension was agreed on August 29 2015.

MORECAMBE SEASON SO FAR

The Shrimps made their customary fast start to the season, but a patchy end to 2015 saw them slip into the crowded pack of clubs hoping to make a run at the play-offs.

They have not won in four games, losing three of them, and are currently 14th, eight points off the play-offs.

Adi Yussuf struck in the 90th-minute to seal Mansfield Town a dramatic come-from-behind victory at Morecambe.

The Stags arrived at the Globe Arena looking to arrest their poor form having won just one of their last seven games, as well as losing back-to-back clashes.

The game survived a pitch inspection on a wet day.

Stags fell behind to a Kevin Ellison penalty on 71 minutes but two goals in the last four minutes turned the game around through Chris Clements and Yussuf.
