In a game which had everything and was a great advert for the league, Thoresby Colliery and Clay Cross Town shared six goals, a result which possibly deals a fatal blow to the Millers’ chances of a top two finish.

Thoresby took the game to their opponents from the start, and led 2-0 at the break with goals from Tom Moody and Lewis Bingham. Ryan Booker pulled one back on the hour before James Scothern put the home side back in the driving seat.

Jake Tittley scored Clay Cross’s second as the impetus swung the other way, and there were close calls at both ends before Gary Morton’s 87th minute leveller gave his side a point.

Despite the comeback, the Derbyshire side find themselves in third place after Bilsthorpe and Westella VIP extended their winning runs.

Bilsthorpe remain top after a 5-2 win at Bentley Colliery, Joe Meehan and Mark Carter both scoring twice, Liam Black the other scorer.

For Bentley, Elija Takram Shah and Ryan Nicholson got the final goals of the season.

Bilsthorpe remain one point ahead of Westella with a game in hand, and two in front of Clay Cross, over whom they have a three match advantage.

Westella’s amazing run of last gasp wins continues, the latest team to fall victim being Harworth Colliery, who went down 2-1 at Marsh Lane.

Rob Petch put the home side in front in the first half, Greg Archer squared it for Harworth after the break, but the visitors went home empty-handed as Andy Coverdale struck in the dying seconds.

In the Black Dragon Badges South Division there was also a late winner, this one going to Swanwick Pentrich Road, who won an entertaining tussle with Belper United thanks to a last minute volley from Guy Wilding, which means the Swans’ unbeaten run now extends to six matches.

Real United and Linby Colliery drew 2-2 at Stoke Bardolph, a result which gives Linby their highest league finish.

After Arron Jenkins had put Real in front, two goals in three minutes from Damian Mann around the hour mark changed it round, Real ensuring a point when Jheryl Pickburn scored 12 minutes from time.
