The pair stood down following the supposed last game of the season against Thorne on Thursday; which was subsequently postponed around the scheduled kick-off time due to a waterlogged pitch.

Humphreys took charge of the side following Jamie Bennett’s resignation back in August and did a great job in steadying the ship after a torrid few opening games of the season.

He was joined by Vickers at the start of October and together the pair did a good job in securing a top-ten finish in the league, sometimes not picking up the results that some of the performances deserved.

A club spokesman said: “We would like to thank both for their efforts and hard work over the past few months and wish them all the best for the future.”

The club are now searching for their replacement and applications should be sent to Paul Hepworth via [email protected] as soon as possible.

On Thursday heavy rain from around 5pm left the pitch waterlogged in places and after some deliberation the game was finally called off at 6.45pm by the referee despite the best efforts of the Glapwell players to clear the standing water.

A decision about the outcome will now be made by the league shortly with the season scheduled to finish last weekend.
