Linby CW ease past Mansfield HM to return to winning ways

Linby returned to winning ways with an emphatic 4-0 win at Church Lane against Mansfield Hosiery Mills.

They started at a good pace and put Mills under pressure with very high intensity football.

And it paid off with an early goal on four minutes when James Hallam found the top corner after Sean Craven picked him out.

It was nearly two when Brad Newby chipped over keeper Tom Ellis but wide of the target on 11 minutes.

The visitors were unlucky not to be level on 13 minutes when the dangerous Brad Holmes hit the bar with a lob.

It was 2-0 five minutes later when Kurt Harrison smashed home from 25 yards to give the keeper no chances.

The luck wasn’t with the visitors who hit the bar again from a Luke Beastall header on 23 minutes.

Ellis saved well from close range to keep out Craven just before the break.

Jack Leverton saved at full-stretch to turn a brilliant volley to safety.

It was game over on 61 minutes when a Jamie Thomas shot took a wicked deflection.

Substitute Owen Everton, rounded off the scoring, with a brilliant individual goal with eight minutes to go.
