Old Elizabethans and Ravenshead also needed extra-time before Ravenshead won the shoot out 5-4 after being locked at 2-2 after 90 minutes.

In the MAA Intermediate Cup quarter-finals, Division One leaders South Wingfield had a 4-1 away victory against Premier League opposition Kirkby Athletic.

In a competitive match for 70 minutes, the scores level at 1-1 at half-time, Wingfield’s extra stamina came to the fore, scoring three goals in the final 20 minutes for a well deserved win.

A goal in the first half by Matt Lake gave Trent Vineyard a 1-0 half-time lead against AFC Farnsfield.

Further strikes from Damian Fort and John Brown. with a consolation strike from Farnsfield. gave the home side a 3-1 victory.

A hat-trick by Mark Hosker, with further goals from Sam Alfred, Matt Alfred, Will Riley and Dale Blackburn gave Derbyshire Amateurs a convincing home 7-3 win against Old Elizabethans II.

A 10-goal thriller between Rainworth Rangers and FC Coopers ended with a 6-4 victory for the home side, whose goals included a hat-trick from Graham Beavis, a brace from Tom Limb with Mark Trowsdale scoring the sixth.

In the quarter-finals of the MAA Minor Cup, Bilborough Utd won 2-0, opening the score with a penalty just on half-time then adding a second in the 85th minute in what was a well-fought encounter against Steelers.

Sutton Travellers had a 4-1 victory over Wollaton III. Wollaton opened the scoring with a penalty just before half-time but Travellers came back strongly in the second half, scoring four times with Ian Roe, Shane Jubbie, Gareth Brown and Andrew Hill on the scoresheet.

Alvaston United were too strong for Ashfield FC with a 5-1 victory. Goalscorers for the home side were a brace from Garry Maclaughlin, Callum Cossey, Nathan Cossey and Neil Ainslie.

Old Bemrosians’ good league form continued with a resounding 5-2 away win against Magdala Amateur Reserves. Scorers for the home side were Kieran Gubbins and Bredan Jackson.
