Mansfield Town boss Adam Murray’s sympathy for sacked Cambridge boss Richard Money
The pair worked together at Luton Town and Murray said: “It’s ruthless. It is disappointing that a manager gets sacked so early on in the season but it’s part of the game.
“I said before we played Cambridge that I had Richard as a manager and he was one of the best coaches that I have had as a player.

Hide Ad“You look at Cambridge at the minute and I know they’ve had a go this season.
“They had a good FA Cup last season and, from the outside looking in, they’ve used that money to strengthen the squad. That demands results - it’s the nature of the beast. If you are putting those resources into it, more often than not you have to get results.
“But he is a good manager and a good coach, so I am sure we’ll see him soon somewhere else.”
