Stags defender Pilkington to stay with Silkmen

Mansfield Town defender George Pilkington has extended his loan spell with Skrill Premier club Macclesfield Town until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old has made four appearances since joining John Askey’s team on loan in February, and scored on his debut in a 3-2 defeat at Woking.

The centre back was also on target in Macclesfield’s 2-1 victory away at Hereford United on Tuesday, 25th February.

Having now extended his loan at Moss Rose, Pilkington could feature for Macclesfield tomorrow night in their clash with fellow play-off hopefuls Kidderminster Harriers.

The Silkmen are currently nine points adrift of the play-off places in the Skrill Premier, but have three games in hand over fifth-placed Nuneaton Town.
