NOTTS COUNTY: Magpies look to take advantage of neutral venue for Carlisle clash

Notts County boss Ricardo Moniz says this weekend’s match with Carlisle being played at a neutral venue helps his side.

The Cumbrians’ home ground Brunton Park was submerged in water following floods in the region earlier this month.

As a result, Carlisle are using Preston North End’s Deepdale as their ‘home’ venue for this weekend’s visit of County.

And Moniz wants his side to take full advantage of that on Saturday.

He said: “It does help us because it’s a neutral venue.

“We still have to take the three points to turn the flow of the away form.

“We have to take advantage of it.

“We must thank Preston for allowing the game to be played there or otherwise we wouldn’t be playing this weekend.”

Meanwhile, Moniz believes his players’ stamina is among the best in the league.

He added: “We are now one of the fittest teams in League Two and that was always my approach.

“Everybody thinks I look to skill, and attractive football.

“But I am one of the few coaches with a medical licence.

“I am obsessed with the body and the capacity, power training.”
