Pike strikes treble to boost FC Sutton

FC Sutton Foresters retained their lead of the Midlands Amateur Alliance Premier Division with a 10-0 victory over Radcliffe Olympic III.

Nathan Pike hit a hat-trick while both Adie Harris and Mick Barsby bagged doubles and Sam Binch, Dean Gibson and Kieron Harris completed the rout.

Third placed Old Elizabethans netted five goals without reply in their clash with Mansfield Hosiery Mills as Tom Blaney and Callum Wilkinson claimed braces and Andy Boulton also struck.

The same score was also recorded in Rainworth Rangers’ match, as an under-strength side lost at Bestwood.

In Division One, Old Elizabethans II’s lost their unbeaten league record as they went down 2-1 to Eaton Hall College.

Ashfield FC doubled their tally of victories by defeating Steelers 3–1 with Luke Ball (2) Ricki Platt on target.

Old Elizabethans III were beaten 4-0 by Division Two leaders Watnall Athletic.

At the other end of the table, Ashfield II are still looking for their first point after losing 6–0 to Sunnydale, while Southwell St Marys narrowly missed out in a 3-2 defeat at Alvaston United.

In the Notts FA Minor Cup, Ravenshead were on the wrong side of a 6–3 scoreline in a bruising encounter with Ashfield Athletic.
