Six on the trot for Selston

In the Precision NSL Senior Division, Selston are the team in second now, as they extended their winning run to six matches by overcoming Keyworth United 4-1 at home.

A Joe Riley double, one from Jay Cooper, and a Ben Moore penalty won the day.

Bingham Town won their fourth game on the trot, 2-1 at home to Sandhurst.

The game was marred by a nasty tackle by Jamie Charlton of Sandhurst on the hosts’ Rob Hallam after 70 minutes. It left Hallam with a dislocated knee and the match was held up for an hour while he received medical attention.

It also reduced both sides to 10 men - Charlton received his marching orders for the challenge and Dom Page, who scored Bingham’s opening goal, was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card for his actions in the aftermath.

Town were 2-0 up at this point having also scored via a Tom Spencer penalty. Although Sandhurst pulled one back through Kyle Clarkson, Bingham held on for the win.

Ruddington Village continued Kirton Brickworks miserable inaugural season in the Senior Division with a 5-0 victory over their hosts. A Simon Wilkinson hat-trick, added to goals from Tristan Rhodes and Andy Davies, secured the win.

Elsewhere in the Notts FA Intermediate Cup, in another all-NSL tie, Magdala Amateurs overcame FC Samba 4-2, whilst Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves won 3-1 away at Welbeck Welfare of the Central Midlands League.
