And there’s plenty of deals already done and rumours of who is going where.
Here we bring you the latest transfer news for Monday Jan 12.

1. Argyle want Everton defender
Plymouth Argyle are interested in a loan move for Everton centre-back Reece Welch. Welch returned to Everton in December 2024 after a loan spell at Belgian outfit Deinze was cut short, as the club ceased operations following their declaration of bankruptcy. He has since made 14 Premier League 2 appearances for the Toffees. Photo: Getty Images

2. Luton near to permament transfer
Luton boss Jack Wilshere has assured Hatters fans that the permanent signing of on-loan West Ham star Gideon Kodua is a deal that is already ‘in the bag’. (Luton News). The 21-year-old moved to Kenilworth Road in the summer, agreeing to remain in Bedfordshire for the season, with Town announcing at the time that there was an option to buy the former Hammers U18s captain. 3. Barrow target Stockton

4. Cobblers sign Moore
Northampton have made their first move of the January transfer window with the addition of experienced defender Elliott Moore (Chronicle). The 28-year-old centre-back, who’s been without a club since leaving Oxford United in September, has penned an 18-month contract, keeping him at Sixfields until the summer of 2027. He effectively replaces fellow defender Jordan Thorniley, whose loan spell at Northampton was cut short earlier this week. Photo: Getty Images
