Trinity chairman insists I’m a Celebrity star Jake Quickenden is good enough to play for club

Jake Quickenden, the TV reality star who earlier in the year declined to sign for Gainsborough Trinity, will play in a summer friendly for the Blues.

Club chairman Richard Kane has said that Quickenden, formerly of Frickley Athletic, now a pop singer, will feature at the Martin and Co Arena in pre-season.

Richard Kane said:”He is playing in one of the games.”

“Of course. if he is good enough, we would consider him in the squad for 2015-2016.”

Trinity are due to take on Scunthorpe United, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, and Hull City in their home friendlies, although it is not yet clear which game will feature the I’m a Celebrity contestant.
