Things certainly took an upturn after the arrival of Nigel Clough to replace Graham Coughlan as manager in November, with that five game winning streak a real highlight.

It showed that parts of this squad, both experienced and young players, offer rich promise of a better season next time around with the right additions.

The early season displays of midfielder George Lapslie were certainly eye-catching as have been the unselfish hard work of Jordan Bowery up front, who has topped the scoring charts.

Skipper Ollie Clarke's drive, the quality of fellow midfielder George Maris and the calm experience and flexibility of defender James Perch will doubtless earn all of them some of the vote.

But who would be your choice for the accolade?
