DUTCH MASTERPIECE
Haydock 2.25 WIN
After heavy rain, there was a precautionary inspection scheduled for Haydock this morning to see if the meeting could go ahead. But if it got the green light, Gary Moore’s strong and scopy sprinter will take all the beating in this nursery handicap. Heavily backed for a similar race at Glorious Goodwood in the summer, he took a keen hold, hung and completely misfired. But he bounced back in style at Windsor earlier this month after a gelding operation, showing good speed from the traps and forging clear in the final furlong. Proven on testing ground, the son of Dutch Art races here off only 6lbs higher and, as an added bonus, trainer’s son, Ryan Moore, has been booked to ride.
