Matlock magic as Sutton swimmers dominate

Sutton Swimming Club completely dominated the Elaine Bowler Trophy Gala at Matlock Leisure Centre on Saturday.

The team, comprising 12 boys and 12 girls, secured 24 first place finishes out of the 50 events available and earned a total of 303 points on the night with runners up Radford SC getting 275 points, Matlock A third overall with 248 points and Ripley Rascals SC fourh with 232 points.

Amongst the Sutton swimmers was birthday boy Matthew Woodhall, who celebrated his 10th birthday with another PB swim in his 50m breaststroke race.

The winner’s shield was collected by twins Jim and Mia Fergie (pictured), who have their 13th birthdays coming up in the next week.

Other swimmers representing Sutton SC on the night were Giovanni Balanur, Spike Atkinson, Jack Berta, Adam Hudson, Joshua Leeson, Kelsey Edwards, Daniel Johnston, Jake Hudd, Russ Golubs, Liam Best, Keira Dobbs, Ellie Bunker, Chloe Quinn, Alice Jones, Ellie Read, Nicola Peach, Lauren Dobbs, Chloe Peach, Sophie Bunker, Neve Fergie and Lauren Quinn.
