Now Greys beat Jack Frost!

A SEVERE frost put paid to most of last Sunday's scheduled matches in the NOTTS SUNDAY MORNING LEAGUE.

But at least the reigning champions were in action with SCOTS GREY easing to a 6-1 victory away to struggling HUCKNALL PLOUGH RANGERS in the PREMIER PREMIER DIVISION.

For reasons best known to himself, the referee passed the bone-hard Nabbs Lane pitch playable. But after 20 minutes, even he wasn't sure and he asked the two skippers whether or not they wanted to carry on.

Greys were already one up thanks to a close-range effort from Jamie Moore. And they added a second just before half-time through Andy Frawley.

Frawley struck again in the second period with Damien Rennicks (2) and Alan Jeffries, who had earlier missed three golden one-on-ones also hitting the target.

To their credit, Rangers kept battling away and scored a late consolation goal but it must be said that they contributed to their own downfall by playing a crazy offside-trap that never worked.

ACROSS the rest of the league, only three other games took place but two of them involved teams from the Dispatch district.

In PREMIER DIVISION ONE, the promotion prospects of BULWELL RANGERS were dented by an awful 5-0 defeat at the hands of lowly Carlton Catholic.

But in INTERMEDIATE DIVISION ONE, EMPIRE boosted their chances of avoiding relegation by beating Westdale Tavern 2-1.
