The first part of the double came in the classified stakes when recent debutant scorer Red Primo maintained his unbeaten run with any amount in hand by eight lengths from Under Approval.

Both horses were ridden by Ben Curtis and owned by Craig and Maureen Buckingham.
“Girl Power” was also in the winners enclosure as trainer Ruth Carr trained the well backed Meshardal to an easy victory under James Sullivan, reversing form with 12-year-old veteran Doctor Hillary, who beat him last time they met.
Jockey Laura Barry also was among the winners aboard Dynastic who won nicely after pulling hard early on for trainer Tony Coyle.

Hide AdSam Spade and General Tufto had a cracking battle up the home straight in the opening mile handicap with Derek Shaw’s Sam Spade just coming out on top under stable jockey Dale Swift.
The pair pulled seven lengths clear of the remainder which goes to show what a titanic tussle they had.
Royal Connoisseur was a very skinny price at 1/3 to break his maiden at the fifth attempt but was overhauled by Wildcat Lass, who put her previous run at the course and the fillies allowance to good use and scampered away to win by five lengths.
