Sutton Harriers Ladies still lead Booths League

Sutton Harriers Ladies still lead the way in the Booths Decorators XC League with the club in overall second place after the fourth race at Carsington Reservoir with the final race at Shipley Park next month.

At Carsington, Sutton had 20 men and 11 ladies taking on 307 other runners over the five-mile course.

Shaun Martin was the first Harrier home in 14th position in 28mins 45secs, next was Tony Goodyear (16th, 28.54), and first over-50 was Nick Luke in 29.54, followed by Robert Roper (42nd, 30.28).

First lady was Michelle Willcocks in 30mins 31secs, closely followed by Brent Stevenson (46th, 30.44), and Chris Holmes (47th, 30.45).

First junior home for Sutton was Ben Burnham in second position in 32mins 19secs.

Next was Paul Dobbs (75th, 32.27), followed by Dan Crow (76th, 32.35), fourth lady Sarah Hutchinson (32.40), and Sally Hughes (seventh lady, 33.14).

Second junior home was Callum Ball in third (33.37), with James Simpson (99th same time 33.37) and Rebecca Barson (10th lady, 34.8),

In 144th place was James Bird (35.47), then Tracy Holmes (28th lady, 36.32), Davi Ward (173rd, 36.50), Amanda Alletson (30th lady, 37.00), Adam Taylor (37.01), Kate Simpson (33rd lady, 37.18), James Roper (fourth junior home in 37.55), Conrad Watson (211st, 38.53), Sue Bradley (48th lady, 39.25), Andrew Ball (225th, 39.35), Kerry Shooter (58th lady, 40m 51), and Helen Baird (60th lady, 41.26).

Still running and over 70 years old, Tony Staniland finished first in his age group in 41mins 50secs. with Donna Atkinson 87th lady in 46.47.

After competing in his Triathlon, Alex Brewer finished with fellow Harrier Phil Bird in 56mins 10secs.

Sutton Harriers also had six runners in the Newark 10K.

First Sutton runner home was Claire Watson (61st in 44mins 36 secs. Second was David Ward, (69th, 45.01) third, also third in her age group, Alison Whittingham (82nd, 46.22), Conrad Watson, (92nd, 47.13), Paul Wilbraham (105th, 48.07), and 75-year-old Kenneth Hensby, in 54.34, an impressive 191st place, out of 308 finishers.
