Gun fired during Shirebrook burglary

Police are investigating an aggravated burglary at a house in Shirebrook when a gun was fired at the wall of a house.

At around 8.25pm on Saturday (25th January), two men walked into a house on Field Drive and an argument broke out between them and the two men and one woman inside.

One of the burglars fired a shot into the wall and the two men stole cash before driving off in a car. No one was injured.

The man with the gun is described as 5ft 7ins tall and stocky. He wore a black balaclava and dark clothing.

His accomplice is 5ft 10ins tall and wore a green military style jacket, dark trousers and a black balaclava. He was holding a knife.

Both men are white.

Detectives are treating this as a rare, isolated incident and patrols in the area have been increased.
