Man charged after Mansfield town centre assault

Ashley Haslam, of Edgmanton Road in Meden Vale, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody until his appearance before Mansfield magistrates today (Monday).

It relates to an incident in the early hours of Saturday (Saturday 15 March 2014) in Leeming Street.

A 23-year-old man was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre with severe injuries. He remains there in a critical but stable condition.

A 22-year-old man also arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed pending further enquiries.
