Nottinghamshire police officer becomes International Police Association president

At the UK section’s National Council Meeting DCI Mick Luke was elected as the new president, taking over the role from Tom Crozier, a retired police superintendent from Fife Constabulary.

DCI Luke has been involved in the IPA since 1997 and was previously the national Vice President as well as Vice Chair of the Nottinghamshire branch.

He said: “I am honoured to have been elected President and will look to continue the work of my predecessors in sharing good practice, friendship and cooperation with police forces around the world.”

The IPA was founded in 1950 by Lincolnshire Sergeant Arthur Troop. It has grown to a membership of 450,000 and is the largest friendship network in the world. Its sections span 69 countries and are broken down into regions and branches linked to the force areas.
