Park run event hits its 100th milestone

The event starts at 9am every Saturday throughout the year and has seen in excess of a thousand runners take part since it began in September 2012.

Races are organised solely by volunteer runners who take part, the majority of whom come from a small core of the most regular participants.

A spokesman said numbers taking part had gradually increased as more people got to know about the event.
