Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer.

Around a million people are living with dementia in the UK, including more than 74,000 across the East Midlands.

Thousands more care for someone with the condition.

Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity and the only one to tackle all aspects of dementia, giving help and hope to people living with dementia today and in the future.

Tom Carter, Alzheimer’s Society’s local services manager for the East Midlands, said: “We cannot thank Nottingham Memory Walkers enough, every step contributed to this incredible total of more than £106,000.

"By taking part, our supporters are a real force for change.

"It will take a society to beat dementia and Nottingham Memory Walkers showed what society in action looks like.

"Everyone who walked or donated is part of the fight to beat dementia.”
