Southwell Minster student headed for Eton

A Southwell Minster School student has been offered a place at the famous Eton College.

Thomas Groves (16) received the offer from the prestigious school, where Prince Harry and William were both educated, after netting 13 A* GCSEs.

The hardworking lad was told by his parents Eton was offering places to talented students and decided to go for it.

He said: “I went down for interviews and exams and was later told I had been offered a place.

“I am very excited. It is different and the education will be good. I put in a lot of hard work studying and started about four weeks before the GCSEs.

“I just thought about getting good results to keep myself motivated.”

Thomas plans to study maths, further maths, biology and physics at ‘A’ level.
