But the culprit is no hooded yob - instead residents have had their feathers ruffled by the constant crows of a COCKEREL. Husband and wife Philip and Caroline Sutcliffe said they didn't know what to doodle-do when they received orders to silence the bird after neighbours complaints of its morning wake up calls. The noisy culprit lives on the couple's farm in idyllic village of Eyam, Derbyshire, along with his chicken friends and left his owner's served with the noise abatement notice after one neighbour took action against early morning crows. "He's got an ASBO on him," retired engineer Philip, 80, said.

The owners of William - Philip and Caroline Sutcliffe - have been slapped with a noise abatement notice by Derbyshire Dales District Council following a complaint about the cockerel’s crowing.

Mr Sutcliffe said: “We are not looking to sell William, we just want to give him to a good home.”
