Nottinghamshire housebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes recently welcomed Hucknall MP Michelle Welsh, to its Thoresby Vale development in her Sherwood Forest constituency, to meet the award-winning team.

The leading homebuilder invited the MP, joined by Coun Paul Peacock (Lab), Leader of Newark & Sherwood Council and Coun Celia Brooks (Lab), ward councillor, to visit its Ollerton Road development and see the nearly completed community.

During her visit, Ms Welsh was introduced to Martin Rose and Scott Pollard who both won Seal of Excellence awards in the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job awards for the quality of construction at Thoresby Vale.

Ms Welsh said: “Visiting Thoresby Vale and meeting the award-winning team behind its delivery was a real pleasure.

“The Seal of Excellence awards are a testament to the skill, dedication and high standards of Martin, Scott and the wider team, and it’s fantastic to see such quality construction and community-building happening right here in the heart of Sherwood Forest.”

Mark Cotes, managing director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands also delivered a speech during the visit, sharing insights into the progress being made at the development and the commitment required to become an award‑winning site manager.

Accolades such as the Seal of Excellence awards rate site managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail.

The awards celebrate the vital role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites and to the highest quality standards.

Barratt Redrow site managers won 115 awards for quality workmanship in the 2025 NHBC Pride in the Job Awards and has won more Pride in the Job awards than any other housebuilder for the last 21 years.
