Horse-racing ‘Tip Of The Day’ — Sunday November 4

After the excitement of last night’s action in the Breeders’ Cup, racing’s focus of attention switches today to three interesting jumps cards at Carlisle, Huntingdon and Cork.

Sunday November 4

RULE THE WORLD

Cork 1.40 WIN

It’s one of the highlights of the year at Cork, with the highlight being the Paddy Power Cork Grand National. But arguably the nicest, most promising horse on view all day will be Mouse Morris’s five-year-old gelded son of 2002 Arc runner-up Sulamani who made an eyecatching debut over Rules at Punchestown three weeks ago. Travelling strongly and jumping well, he strode clear very comfortably, giving rise to hopes that he can emulate his half-brother, Venalmar, who was a high-class novice hurdler for the same yard. Today’s race is much more competitive and represents a steep rise in class. But given that he’s already won a 3m point, the big step-up in trip from 2m is not expected to be inconvenience him unless the ground gets bottomless.
